The Story of Tree
Imagine.
Picture a young tree, three or four feet tall.
Its shape is simple and pleasing. The tree grows, taking in the scent of wet earth, the feeling of rain, and the warmth of sunlight on its branches.
Now, something changes. A rope is tied to the tip of the tree, its other end fixed in the ground. As the tree grows, the rope gently pulls it to one side.
The tree no longer feels at ease. All its energy goes into resisting the rope's pull.
One day, the tree finds a way to release itself from the rope. Free again, it moves back and forth, sometimes quickly, as it adjusts to this new freedom.
With time, the tree grows stronger and steadier. It stands tall, enjoying the scent of wet earth, the touch of rain, and the warmth of the sun on its branches.
