Understanding fear

Understanding fear is fundamental to achieving inner freedom. While experiencing fear is a natural human response, acknowledging its presence is the initial step toward reducing its influence.

Understanding fear
Out of fear, we create barriers.
Out of fear, we create barriers that give us a false sense of safety.
They give us a false sense of temporary safety, yet over time, they limit our inner freedom, making us slaves to fear. It takes courage, effort, and self-understanding to remove them.

When pushed to the corner, the mind uses its abilities to create false stories or understandings that justify actions and satisfy feelings of danger. It does not matter if you fully believe these stories are true.
That's what happens when we put ourselves in extremely stressful situations: our minds create fake stories that we believe are true, and nothing can change our belief.

Double-crossing fear-protecting barrier
A very clever construction the mind creates to cover the thinking of fear. Fear of fear blocks access to the real reason for the fear and blocks efforts to see reality as it is, not as fear pretends. No matter how many or how strong the barriers we create, the original fear remains and grows. Fear is very clever. Imagine someone living in the dimension of fear, yet masking it with fake stubbornness.
In my study of the mind, I met someone like that. A really nice, positive person, yet when fear takes over, she becomes stubborn, ignoring everything and everyone, causing harm to herself and those around her. According to TCM, the kidneys are home to fear; indeed, she has a kidney condition. These stubborn episodes are deeply rooted in that area.
